Last news about Whalejump

Whether it's to stay informed about new music, a new video, a project I'm working on, collaborations, pre-save campaign or simply for recommendations and updates on my musical project, you'll find all this information here!

You can also sign up for the newsletter to receive these updates directly. These emails won't be sent at fixed intervals as they depend on my activities, but you'll be able to stay closely connected to my project and follow my progress and actions in near-real-time to bring my musical project to fruition. This project started with the desire of creating music I love but it can't live without your support. It's my little way of saying thankyou.

Creating music is great, but it only becomes truly alive when there are people there to listen to and appreciate it

Well it's about time. As I was mentioning last month, I'm actually working on multiple tracks at the moment. I got a liquid DnB track coming out early next month named "Scapeshift". I also got my collaboration with the NCS vocalist going. It's tough to find good times to work together with the timezones difference, but we try to get there :)

I spent a lot of time thinking about what I want in music. When I was younger, and even now, I found tracks that were so emotional and deeply connected to me that I could cry listening to them. I made a big list of these tracks, and my goal in making music was to bring the same kind of emotions. I tried to find a pattern, but the genres were different—sometimes there were vocals, sometimes piano, sometimes guitar, etc.—but I couldn’t find one.

When I find something good, the more I work on it, the more it becomes "not that good." Don't get me wrong, I like the music I make; otherwise, I wouldn't release it. But it’s not the same as my first hearing of "Sing Me to Sleep" by Alan Walker, for instance. So I tried to think: Is it because of the timing of my first discovery? The fact that it was new to me? I don’t know. Maybe it's silly to try to reach the same kind of emotions, but I realize I need to try. For that, I need to change the way I create, the way I see things, and especially the genre I’m working on.

Drum and Bass (DnB) has always been a genre I liked, but I also got into it because I knew people who helped me understand how to create it. The more you dig, the better you become. But now, I need something different. I still have a lot of DnB projects underway, and I don’t want to stop that, but in the coming months, you’ll see different things coming from me. Don’t be surprised; take it as an extension of my creative quest.

I'm actually working on 4 different musical projects at the moment :

       - I've started to work with the talented producer Marian Klose, on a energetic & melodic DnB track. We're still in the early stage of development but it's promosing.

       - I got a very fascinating project where I might be working with an NCS vocalist. She is incredible and got a fantastic voice & personality. I can't say her name yet as nothing is signed BUT I trully believe in this project & I really hope you'll like it too. It's gonna be a liquid DnB track.

        - A drum & bass melodic track in the spirit of Feint. I'm trying to get as much feedback as I can on this on as I need to grow technically. There's work to be done but I got the track, got the vocals done and everything is in place to deliver a wonderful track for the end of June. Stay Tuned.

         - A liquid DnB track in the spirit of Monrroe. I'm more and more into liquid sub-genre of DnB and amongs the numerous artists that inspire me, he is the main one at the moment. The track is on the begining stage but I really love it and I'll try my best to move on wuickly on this one :)

Well as you can see, my website just came out and I'm very excited about it. Everytime you try to contact Labels, Curators etc... they all expect some professional touch. I try my best to show that through my music and I'm working hard on it. In the meantime, I though it might be interesting to work on a different facet of my artist profile and deliver a professional place where I can display all my work and also get better relationship with my listeners and potential co-artists.
